Tentative Response - Plato's Republic

Plato argues that to find the nature of justice for a person, one can look at justice for the polis. In what sense are the two the same?

For Plato, justice is when people fulfill their intrinsic potential. This potential is predetermined by the “magnificent myth” disseminated by the Guardians: that differences are determined by the content of gold, silver, or bronze in one’s blood. Specifically, justice is when reason controls the (individual’s) courage and appetites. On the state level, it’s when the philosopher-king (who represents reason) is in control of the armies (who represent courage) and producers (who are ruled by appetite).
