On what basis, following this text, would one be justified in treating someone differently than other people?
Throughout the entirety of this text I think the focus remains in the idea that we, as followers of Christ, are expected to treat everyone else equally. If they wrong us, we are expected to forgive them. If the strike our cheek, we are expected to turn and expose our other cheek. These rules don’t change no matter who it is that we are dealing with. On Earth we are expected to uphold this mentality of selflessness and piety in the face of anyone who crosses our path.
God, however, doesn’t have to follow these rules during the last judgement. Following this text, the two sets of people that are discriminated against the most are the rich and the nonbelievers. FOr both of these sets of people, it is considered extremely difficult to gain admittance into heaven.
